Coin-spiracy 2003/04
UNI Coins in Action - Mumbai

St. Mary's Convent High School

The Launch

St. Mary's Convent High School had a very successful Coin-spiracy launch on November 12th, 2003 . The entire function was managed by the students of class X, the Principal and Mrs.Pinto.

Mr. Vasant Kalbag, Founder of Kindness Unlimited, presented the school with UNI Coin #077. He also announced that Kindness Unlimited would award four prizes at the end of the project - a prize for the most original and effective kind act in each of the three categories, the Self, the Environment, and Another. The fourth prize would be for the best kind act in all the three categories combined.

At the end of the ceremony, the students of St. Mary's gave Mr. Kalbag a "Vote of Thanks" with the following message:

Thank you Mr. Kalbag for making such a difference to our lives through your message of kindness. We hope to carry the torch forward.

The Coin's Progress

UNI Coin 077 has now passed hands 134 times! Mr. Kalbag and the story of the coin's success also made the news in Reader's Digest, which has a very large circulation all around India.

You can read the article here: He's One of a Kind - page 1, page 2, page 3.

The project has also received great reviews from parents, who have reported a change in their kids' behaviour. "Many liked the idea so much that they made small cards with the same message (as the one on the coin) and passed on kind acts among their own friends and colleagues!" reports Vasant Kalbag.
