As their kind act to another, the Beavers prepared bags with essential items such as underwear, socks and soap, as well as special Valentine treats, for the homeless. Each bag was decorated with hearts and a message of love from individual Beavers.
Highlights of the November 28th Montroyal Coin-spiracy Assembly
by kindness reporter, Debbie Riopel
Alice Jennings, our main Coin-spiracy contact for Montroyal, had arranged a very heartwarming assembly for the entire school. As they wanted this to be very grassroots, they brought the idea of the Coin-spiracy to their Lead class - Grade 7 who said, "Yes! Let's do it" and these kids are the ones who led the assembly! They put kindness posters up around the school and kept the project secret until the morning of Nov. 28th! At the assembly, a short clip from Pay It Forward was played, as was the Coin-spiracy video. The grade 7's put on anti-bullying skits. I was asked to present the UNI to the kids and say a few words. The older students then encircled the assembly and passed the UNI around for all to see up close and personal!
Mrs. Jennings challenged the kids to be strong enough to stand up for
kindness!
It was neat what the principal said to the students--that the school has an
excellent reputation as an anti-bullying school and now they will be known
as a Coin-spiracy school as well!!!!! He is happy that the teachers and
students have brought the Coin-spiracy to Montroyal!
A grade 7 student gave a final challenge to the assembly -to commit kind
acts on the weekend and write them down and bring them to school.
Alice says that their kindness ideas are still evolving...and will keep
us posted.
